Sea Turtle Encounter
Jump on board for a close encounter of the sea turtle kind!
Join us for our brand new Animal Encounter program that takes you behind-the-scenes to get closer to the Vancouver Aquarium’s resident sea turtle, Schoona. Guided by an Aquarium interpreter, you will start in the Animal Encounter room to hear Schoona’s amazing story and other stories of sea turtle survival. Next, head to the Aquarists’ kitchen to make up a healthy meal and then get ready to visit the shark penthouse where you will participate in Schoona’s daily feeding session. Don’t miss this opportunity to get up close and personal to such an awe-inspiring animal!

Members receive a 20% discount on all animal encounters!
Children* under the age of 13 must be accompanied by a paying adult. One adult may accompany 3 children.
* Child = ages 8-12. Minimum age 8 years.
Sea Turtle Encounters require participants to kneel for extended periods of time, go up and down stairs and walk on wet, slippery surfaces. Please advise us of any disabilities, special needs, medical conditions or concerns you may have that could prevent you from fully participating in the program. No concern is too small. The more information you can provide about yourself, the better prepared we can be for your experience.
